What strikes you most about the students at Hillbrook?
Hillbrook students are curious! They ask questions and love to go to extra mile, pushing themselves to grow both inside and outside the classroom.

When you think about the students at Hillbrook, what’s the one thing that stands out to you?
Kindness and empathy are two traits that Hillbrook students have.

What is your favorite unit or project and why?
In first grade this year, I have enjoyed our small moment narrative writing unit. It’s amazing to see the first graders’ imaginations materialize on paper. For many of them, it’s the first time they have formally written a story in school. It’s really neat to see their first draft and compare it to their final draft!

What made you choose to teach at Hillbrook?
I loved Hillbrook from the moment I saw it. 14 acres with trees and a river flowing through campus felt too good to be true! The teachers and staff are so friendly; it instantly felt like family.

What are you most looking forward to at Hillbrook in the next few months?
Continuing to see the first graders evolve! They have grown so much from the beginning of the year, and I can’t wait to see what they will be able to accomplish towards the end!

What is the last place you visited?
I went to Spain during Winter break; we went to Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona!
